We love BBC2’s ‘Your Home Made Perfect’ which started its second series this week. The CGI visuals are absolutely amazing and really help the customer understand exactly what their new home would look like. Here at Griffinshaws we use something quite similar when we design our bespoke designs for our customers. Using state of the art computer CAD programmes we first obtain a detailed brief from our customers of their aspirations for their new kitchen, bedroom or bathroom. We then recommend various options of units, fittings and detailed finishes for the customer to consider. The next stage is a full detailed survey of the space available for the new installation.
Once we have all the information to hand, our experienced designer will create plans of the new area to ensure the best use of the space possible, with all practical and aesthetic considerations. The plans produced consist of both top plan and 3D visuals of the new designs from different angles where required, to allow the customer to see photo realistic views as if the installation had actually been built. We will also shortly be introducing Virtual Reality headsets, just like ‘Your Home Made Perfect” for customers to be able to “walk into their new space” and see the design from every single angle by just moving their body.

You’ve made that important decision to invest in a brand-new kitchen for your home. The next big decision is what kitchen to choose and where to look.
With your budget agreed (loosely), you start to trawl the internet for images of your ultimate kitchen. Pinterest throws up some lovely pictures but no real information about the manufacturer or price.
Next you search for local showrooms to visit to be able to look at the kitchens displayed. Here at Griffinshaws we have a sizeable showroom but we can only display a limited number of fitted kitchens for customers to view. Although we have many extra samples of door and work surface finishes, as well as all the kitchen manufacture’s brochures, we want to provide our customers with as much choice as possible for them to make a well-informed decision. This is why we have teamed up with two of the biggest manufactures in the UK to offer our customers an online 3D virtual reality showroom experience of both Mackintosh and Chippendale kitchens.
This free hi-definition, fully immersive online tool provides our customers with complete access to the Mackintosh and Chippendale showroom based at their head office in Doncaster. With 38 Mackintosh and 26 Chippendale kitchen displays, customers can “walk through” the showrooms looking at each kitchen as though they were actually in the building. Text descriptions and video ‘hotspots’ give additional information and content relating to the displays.
